Community Collaboration Centre – Call for Expressions of Interest

Community Collaboration Centre – Call for Expressions of Interest

A Call for Expressions of Interest for the following project will be opened February 1st, 2017 and be received by United Way Thompson Nicola Cariboo (UWTNC) until 4:00 PM, February 28th, 2017 at the UWTNC office located at 177 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 1Z4.

UWTNC is seeking premises to house a Community Collaboration Centre and administration offices for staff totaling approximately 4000 square feet, plus a minimum of eight parking spaces, to lease or purchase by December 2018.

The mission of United Way is to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. We help positive, long-term social change happen. We help make our communities and region better. As the backbone of an area-wide network of non-profits and community-based organizations, we use strategic thinking, research, and powerful partnerships to change lives. We tackle tough problems like poverty, hunger, addiction, mental health and homelessness by using research to better understand the issues in our community. This includes advocating for those who don’t have a voice, as well as funding and partnering with the most effective local organizations who create real opportunities and yield measurable results.

The Community Collaboration Centre would act as a hub for the non-profit sector with shared meeting space, training opportunities, facilitators, resources, as well as professional development and community workshops. This Centre would offer a place to work and network for those working in the non-profit sector throughout the region and provide access to professional services including marketing, social enterprise development, executive coaching, business planning etc.

The vision for a United Way Community Collaboration Centre is to:

  • support collaboration as the first principle in addressing social issues;
  • support programs and initiatives that focus on and improve our community’s strengths and assets;
  • support the community to work together to strengthen its capacity to address challenges and take advantage of opportunities.

More details can be obtained from the UWTNC office located at the below mentioned address. Please note that this is a Call for Expressions of Interest and not a Call for Tender.
