Back to School Baking

Back to School Baking

When the air starts to have a hint of crispness, baking cookies seems like the thing to do. Baking cookies for a good cause is even better!

United Way took over the kitchen at the Boys and Girls Club  of Kamloops to bake almost 300 cookies yesterday – yum!

At this time of year, parents and their kids are gearing up to head back to school. This usually means new clothes, shoes and school supplies.

But not all kids in our community can afford to buy these things so that’s why United Way has teamed up with Staples, the Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kamloops to help raise money to send them back to school fully prepared.

What does that have to do with cookies?

To raise the funds, staff and volunteers from all of these organizations have rolled up their sleeves in the kitchen to bake a variety of goods. All you have to do is head up to Staples and donate!

Don’t they look good?

Come on by!
