Goodbye from Brenda

Goodbye from Brenda

Brenda New Photo FULL sizeAfter eleven years of service as Executive Director, I’m moving on to pursue a new opportunity with United Way of the Lower Mainland as their Vice President of Resource Development.

My decision came with great deliberation as Kamloops has been and still remains home to me. During my time in this position I have been fortunate to be involved with United Way on a national level and I believe in the strength of our collective ability across the country. I have learned so much about community and community wisdom in the past eleven years here in Kamloops, and this experience will be invaluable going forward. We have made great strides together.

No organization is defined by one person. It takes a team of dedicated people to move forward on significant issues such as children’s success, poverty and developing a strong community. I am confident in the abilities of our current staff in place at United Way.

Our team is progressive and actively engaged with our donors in the community on a much deeper level than ever before. They are working hard to report to you on the measurable difference United Way is making on addressing the root causes of social issues and creating healthier lives. Our volunteer leadership at the Board and Campaign Cabinet tables are committed to our mission and it has been a pleasure to work with and learn from them.

It has been an honour to serve our community through United Way and I want to thank you for being an integral part of our community success. Behind every changed life is someone who made it happen. Thank you for being that someone.

Sincerely,
