On April 17th and 18th, 2015 the second annual Women’s Spirituality Conference occurred in Williams Lake. As a part of the Multicultural Program through Canadian Mental Health Association, the conference works to bring women from all backgrounds and life paths together.

Women’s Spirituality Circle is a group of women in and around Williams Lake that are engaged in respectful dialogue and learn about different spiritual practices and traditions. They aspire to build a movement that reduces negative actions and builds strong and supportive relationships in the community.

Over the weekend, 35 workshops were put on by volunteers on topics such as yoga, smudging, and dance. Over 100 women participated to build connections and a sense of community. No matter a person’s background, they all worked together to explore the topic of peace.

Everyone who participated in the conference enjoyed the weekend to the fullest. One woman stated: “Having an opportunity to feel comfortable and encouraged to share experiences in a non-judgmental environment was enlightening” when talking about the conference.
