My name is Geralyn and I am the new Campaign Associate at the United Way Thompson Nicola Cariboo. I am officially on day three of my new position, and am absolutely thrilled to be part of such an amazing team. Coming off of two days of intensive campaign training, I have learned a lot about the many initiatives of the United Way and my mind is buzzing with information and new ideas.
A little more about me… I am a true Kamloops girl and have lived here almost all of my life. I graduated from St. Ann’s Academy and, like Amber, attended the Journalism program at TRU. Outside of work, you will typically find me either at the dance studio or doing yoga – I am completely obsessed with pretty much anything movement related!
Over the past few years I have worked in marketing, project management and sales and most recently worked for a local tech company, Visual Statement (who just so happens to have a brand new Workplace Campaign). My first introduction to the United Way was actually through a Day of Caring that Visual Statement participated in with The BIG Little Science Centre.
Seeing the difference that just one afternoon made to this great organization opened my eyes and made me want to do even more for our community. Coming on board with the hard-working team at the United Way is going to give me this opportunity, and it will enable me to give back in an entirely new way.
I am so excited to be part of such an inspiringl movement, and can’t wait for the official Campaign Kickoff on September 21st. See you all then!
