Seeing is Believing Tours offer an opportunity for donors, campaign volunteers and interested individuals to see – first hand – the impact of their donations at work in our community.
Participants are able to visit community agencies and hear directly from agency staff and clients
about the difference United Way and community partners can make in the lives of individuals in
The CIBC branches in Kamloops (Downtown, Sahali, Valleyview and North Shore) had so much interest in doing a Seeing is Believing Tour that we were able to schedule two separate tours on May 30 and June 5 and visited five different United Way Community Partners.
One CIBC branch manager, Corey, even got to try out a swing in the Chris Rose gymnasium area.
The entire tour only took two hours but it showed our donors first hand where their money goes when they give to United Way.
A huge Thank You to CIBC staff for their support of United Way and for filling the bus on two separate tours!
Feedback from CIBC staff who attended these two tours:
“Thank you for inviting us on this tour, I am so happy to see firsthand where our money goes. It makes me feel really good about my donations, seeing and learning that it all stays in our community is so wonderful!!”
“Thank you for your time yesterday. It was quit an eye opener to see what is going on in our own backyard. It was nice to see where our dollars are going.”
“Seeing firsthand where our United Way dollars go and how much these organizations rely on our donations is an important piece in engaging people to get involved, volunteer and donate money. For myself, I arrived back at the branch feeling very fortunate for the health of my family, much more appreciative of the things I often take for granted, and with a desire to do even more to help those in need in my community.”
“The employees that went on the tour yesterday spoke with the whole staff today and they could not have been more impressed with the experience. They came away wanting to find a way to help even further than what they already do, I want to thank you for setting this up.”
