Fundraising
Thompson Nicola Cariboo United Way offers donors unique opportunities to support their community through various fundraising programs.
A caring community is about the community as a whole and the quality of life for the people who live in it. United Way has a significant role to play in a caring community by supporting the social service and human care needs of people throughout the Thompson Nicola Cariboo.
Every year, people rally together to raise awareness and funds for United Way to invest in our community. Fundraising is an integral part of how United Way brings people and resources together so we are able to support our community. Fundraising occurs through corporate gifts, employees giving though their workplace, gifts from individual citizens, special events, gifts in kind and gifts of time. Every gift, every effort and every person matters.
Here are some ways
in which you can give:
Annual Campaign
Each year, close to 300 organizations host a workplace campaign for United Way where people give through payroll deduction. Employees who plan and run the campaigns work together, learning about the community and gaining positive experiences from supporting it. Strong employee morale and teamwork are the extra benefits of running a United Way campaign.
Leadership Giving
Leadership Giving is United Way's fastest growing fundraising initiative comprised of individuals who wish to contribute an annual gift at a minimum of $500. Many leaders contribute through the annual workplace campaign and we currently have over 700 Leadership donors.
Major Gifts and Planned
Giving Annual gifts of $5,000 or greater are considered Major Gifts. Planned Giving is the process of designing charitable gifts so you - the donor - realize your philanthropic objectives while maximizing income tax and other financial benefits.
Gifts in Kind
Private sector business products and services provide much needed physical resources to our community. United Way can often make a connection with an agency that will benefit from the donation. Companies can also benefit by providing a service for an event, that we might otherwise had to have purchased.
