Business Engagement

Investing in Families is Good for Business.  In partnership with our local Make Children First initiative, Thompson Nicola Cariboo Success by 6 is engaging business leaders to raise awareness about the economic importance of investing in a child’s early years.

Dr Paul Kershaw made a compelling presentation in Kamloops this March about what we need to help grow our provincial economy- we must implement “Smart Family Policies.”
In order for our population to fully contribute and benefit our city’s economic prosperity, we have to support families from the start.

Families who have reduced work-life conflicts, have high quality child care services,  and have access to supportive parental leaves, are happier and healthier. The result of family friendly policies is greater staff retention and reduced costs due to turn-over and the loss of knowledge and expertise.
Locally, we have developed a ‘family friendly toolkit’ full of resources to help businesses support their employees with families and make their business more attractive to visiting families.  We know that it is full of ideas that will benefit your business and the families in our communities.

Healthy Children, Healthy Families, Healthy Communities -
their future is in our hands.
