Today marks the last day of Starfish Backpacks and school for 2017!

Despite December 15th originally being the last day for the distribution of Starfish Backpacks in 2017, the Kamloops Food Bank, United Way TNC, and LNB Construction came together to give the students a special Christmas surprise. LNB Construction shopped for and filled 40 Christmas hampers with gingerbread house kits, hot chocolate, and Christmas crackers among other fun goodies. Five volunteers from CIBC, Cascades Casino, and the United Way TNC worked together to fill the backpacks early this Friday morning. They took it one step further and hand delivered 80 hampers in total to the kids.

This year, 640 backpacks have been filled thanks to all of the generous support and donations from our incredible community partners and volunteers. Kamloops children have full tummies thanks to donors like you.

A very special thank you to LNB Construction for being everyday heroes. Together, we are feeding the future.
